Majunu First Week Collections
Natural star Nani is on the verge of scoring his 3rd successful hit film of the year with “Majnu”. The romantic comedy has done well at the box office in its first weekend and the trend must follow to make the film a safe venture for all the distributors.
‘Majnu’ has reportedly collected a share of Rs 6+ Cr in the two Telugu states with Rs 2.9 Cr share coming from Nizam area in its first weekend. In overseas, the Nani starrer has grossed $318,360 and collected a decent Rs 60 lakhs+ from the rest of Indian territories. The first weekend total worldwide collections stand at Rs 8.5 crore, which is decent. The gross in overseas is not up to the mark as Nani’s last release ‘Gentleman’ collected a gross of $415K during the same period.
With the film’s worldwide distribution rights getting sold for Rs 17 crores, the weekend performance is rather satisfactory. The film however has to collect another Rs 9 Cr to be called a safe venture. Makers are hopeful that ‘Majnu’ doesn’t lose steam and post good numbers over the week days as well to land them in profit zone. The result of ‘Majnu’ can’t be predicted as of now, considering much anticipated Ram starrer ‘Hyper’ releasing next week followed by a fleet of Dasara releases.
