Chiru, Charan Should Forgive Me
Director Kodandarami Reddy's remarks on Chiru and his 150th film have taken many by surprise. While the remarks courted controversy, the yesteryear filmmaker has received huge flak from the scores of Mega fans. Now days after the issue, Kodandarami Reddy has publicly apologised to Chiru and said he's retracting his comments. He said that he didn't know what he was talking referring to the controversial remarks.
Kondadarami Reddy was quoted as saying to a vernacular daily, "My comments on Chiranjeevi were unfortunate. Please forgive me. Chiranjeevi, Ram Charan and VV Vinayak should pardon me. Who am I to say which film would be hit and which wouldn't work? Then and now, Chiru is always good friend of mine. I didn't know while I was making those comments. I felt bad soon after reading the interview in the newspaper, its website. I shouldn't have made those remarks"
Reddy has issued the clarification to the same vernacular daily to which he had given the controversial interview.
It may be noted that Reddy had stated that no one would be interested to watch Chiranjeevi if he does message-oriented film and he expressed that Chiru should do commercial films. He crossed the line and stated that nobody will watch Chiru's films if he do message-oriented film. Meanwhile, Chiru's 150th film is Telugu remake of superhit Tamil Kaththi. The film has a social message.
Now that Reddy has said sorry, it needs to be seen how mega fans would react. Chiru and Charan are maintaining stoic silence on the issue.
