But before we get there, those who have managed to pick popular trade analysts' brains, have reported that the much awaited film is on course to amass a whopping 100 Crore rupees from its opening weekend (first three days) itself.
Going by the number of tickets that have been booked worldwide, the makers and theatre owners have predicted a business of over 100 Crores in the opening weekend.
Interestingly, the film has already gathered over 200 Crore rupees from distribution, satellite and audio rights.
When it comes to its overall box office collections, producer 'Kalaipuli' S Thanu is confident about Kabali's performance in India as well as overseas.
In fact, the veteran producer believes that the Pa Ranjith directorial will collect more than 500 Crore rupees post its release. What more, Thanu has even said that Kabali will dethrone Baahubali to become India's biggest grosser ever.
"I expect the movie to make more than Rs 500 crore when it releases. It will be bigger than 'Baahubali' because that is the power and stature of Rajinikanth," 'Kalaipuli' S Thanu was quoted as saying to Firstpost.
The worldwide box office collections of Baahubali: The Beginning stands at over 600 Crore rupees, only behind Aamir Khan's PK, which collected 792 Crores and Salman Khan's Bhajrangi Bhaijaan (Rs 626 Crore).
Baahubali is also the highest grosser for any South Indian film and the highest box office grosser in India. Though Rajinikanth has what it takes to break such a daunting record, unanimously positive reviews will go a long way in helping Thanu realize his dream.
